Marijuana consumption is widespread across the world and social acceptance is increasing over the years as shown by less restrictive legislations in countries like the United Sates. Society is becoming more conscious about the medical benefits provided by cannabis along with the fact that cannabis does not turn people into criminals as previously thought by a big segment of society... Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, XXXTemptation and many other weed consumers are looking forward to the next big things that blockchain will provide to people, which are weed delivery and marijuana tracking systems. These systems will be implemented by using algorithms that will collect user information using the process shown in the picture below.
This picture shows how the system will work in the future. Both grower and dispensary will be responsible for the product quality and delivery could be done by them or by outsourcing it to a third party.
Weed tracking systems can only be implemented in those places where cannabis is legal (unless you want to buy in the dark web) and will provide users with information about their consumption, marijuana delivery and of course with recommendations on strains that customers might be willing to try. A user will be able to order as if it was Amazon or Uber eats, the concept is the same but the product and delivery schedules change. These applications will target consumers using market segmentation in order to provide customers higher and more personalized value.
Marijuana users can be divided in two sectors: Recreational users(RU) and Medical users(MU). Due to this division, applications will create different strategies to target both segments. For MU, a scheduled delivery will proceed as if it were any other type of medicine, providing MU a daily, weekly or even monthly delivery of marijuana products to their home, which could be modified anytime to better fit the customer. Doses and strains will depend on doctors recommendation or users' preferences. For RU, the same could apply if customers prefer that option, but most RU prefer to try new strains, so applications will provide a list of marijuana types, along with detailed description of each type including the edible format (cookies, brownies, cakes...). Applications will also provide a rating/comment tab, where users will share their ratings/thoughts on products, which will be used to give better fitting breeds to customers in the future. Recommendations will improve overtime due to the software's ability to learn (Artificial Intelligence) so even the most demanding customers will be happy, right Snoop?
MU and RU will be able to monitor consumption too, proving them with relevant information about money spent on marijuana, strains consumed in the past and the amount of weed bought. These indicators are relevant for any user, as they will have better control over their consumption if they are trying to quit or reduce/increase dosage overtime.
